Few things about Nigerian dwarf goats
Nigerian dwarf goats are dairy goat breeds of miniature size. The small size of these goats makes them popular as hobby goats. These goats are available in many colors such as white, red, black, cream and their combinations. Some have white spots on their body and some have white ?frosting” on the ears. Some of these goats have blue eyes which is a dominant character. These goats are naturally horned. But, most of the care givers disbud their horns when they are less than 2 weeks of age in order to ensure safety to the goat as well as the care-givers.
These Nigerian goats are gentle and domestic, and they can be easily trained. Their colorful appearance and small size make them one of the popular pets. The goats bottle-fed by care-giver are more bonded with the care-giver.
Nigerian dwarf goats can give an amazing quantity of milk that may range from one to eight pounds per day. These goats can give an average of 2.5 pounds of milk per day. The milk of these goats has higher butterfat content when compared to the milk of other dairy goats. The milk of these goats is excellent choice for making cheese and soaps.
