One can call a drop safe by other names also, like drop box, depository, hopper, and money safe. Drop safes can be front loading or top loading. These are used at small places of business where there is a regular flow of cash. It is perfect for holding small amounts of cash. Drop safes can be wall mounted also. There are single compartments, dual compartment drop safes. These safes are meant for temporary storage of cash or jewelry items as they are also not fire resistant.
A drop safe can have a slot on the top where the contents are dropped. Another type can have a hinged hopper on the front. The third type of drop safe can have rotary hopper and this is the safest of all drop safes.
A wall safe is more fire and theft resistant than a drop safe. They can be used for holding jewelry, cash, valuables and important documents, either in office or home. Wall safes can be installed in office or home while the building it is still under construction but one can install a wall safe even later also. A safe mounted on a wall is generally concealed in such a way that it can not be seen by anyone. It can be hidden behind a painting, picture or a bookshelf.
